Privacy & data

VOY broadcasts your live location to anyone with a share link, so it's worth understanding exactly who can see what — and how to stay in control.

Who can see a run#

A run is visible to anyone who has its share link, and public runs may also surface on the explore feed. There's no viewer login, so treat a share link as public.

  • Nothing is shared until you start a run
  • Your live location streams only while the run is active
  • Ending a run stops live sharing immediately
  • A finished run stays available as a recap until you delete it

You control when you're live

Start a run only when you're ready to be watched, and end it as soon as you're done. If you'd rather a run not exist at all afterward, delete it.

Deleting a run#

You can permanently delete any run from your dashboard or its share-links entry. Deleting a run removes:

  • The run and its full GPS track
  • Every photo shared during the run
  • All comments and reactions from viewers

Your lifetime totals are adjusted to match. This can't be undone, and the share link stops working right away.

Managing your account#

Update your profile and password from Settings. You can change your password in the app or on the web, and use forgot-password if you're locked out. Disconnect Strava anytime from Connections.
