Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things people ask most. If you don't see yours here, the rest of the docs go deeper.

Do viewers need an account or the app?

No. Anyone with your share link can watch in their browser — no sign-up, no install. The app and account are only for runners.

Why can't I start a run from the website?

Live tracking needs your phone's GPS and heart-rate sensor, so runs are started and streamed from the mobile app. On the web you can schedule runs, review recaps, and manage your account. See The mobile app.

Is a share link private?

A share link is public — anyone who has it can watch that run, including your live location while it's active. Only share it with people you want watching, and end your run when you're done.

Do I need a heart-rate monitor?

No. With a Garmin or compatible monitor connected, VOY streams your heart rate and zones. Without one, your run still streams with GPS-based metrics — heart rate just won't show.

What activities can I track?

Run, walk, hike, and ride. Foot activities show pace; rides show speed. More in Activity types.

What happens to the link after I finish?

It becomes a recap — a replay of the run with your route, stats, and photos — at the same URL you already shared.

Can I use my Strava routes?

Yes. Connect Strava from Connections and pick a saved route as your course. It appears as a guide line on the live map. See Connect Strava.

How do I export a run?

Use the download button on a run's recap or detail page to save it as a GPX file. Details in Recaps & export.

How do I delete a run?

Delete any run from your dashboard or its share-links entry. It permanently removes the run and everything attached to it. See Privacy & data.
